1. What We Collect (And Why)
BirthdayGen exists to help you celebrate yourself and others. We collect limited personal data to generate fun, meaningful, and personalized digital and physical experiences.

2. Contact Imports & Gifting to Others
You can upload contacts to send cards, reminders, surveys, wish-list requests, or other celebration prompts. When you do:
- You confirm you have permission to contact or celebrate these recipients
- Imported contacts stay account-scoped and are used only to power your own dashboard ranking, grouping, timing, and celebration planning
- We never sell, rent, or publish your address book
- You can delete contact data at any time
BirthdayGen supports CSV and VCF imports on the web today. Apple Contacts native access, if you choose to enable it later, is handled through a separate iPhone or iPad companion flow with Apple's permission prompt.
3. Your Birthday Profile & Sharing Settings
Your profile includes your birth date, card themes, and message preferences.
- You can choose whether your birthday wall is public or private
- You control what others can view or interact with
- Any shared journal entries, card walls, or digital greetings are optional and revocable
- Recipient-facing delivery events, opens, comments, or survey responses appear only after you explicitly send or share something
4. Card Art, AI Content, and Personalization
BirthdayGen uses AI to generate:
- Messages, jokes, and poem-style greetings
- Visual content (card covers, gift wrappers, zodiac themes)
- Customized reminders and gift pairings
This content is:
- Private unless shared
- Personalized based on preferences and inputs
- Subject to moderation if misused or inappropriate
5. E-Commerce, Orders, and Shipping
If you buy physical gifts or printed cards:
- We collect your name, address, and payment info via Stripe
- Your data is used only for delivery and order confirmation
- We do not store your credit card
6. Analytics and Cookies
We use:
- Cookies to remember your settings and birthday preferences
- Google Analytics for anonymous trends
- Affiliate tags to track recommended gifts or deals
- Local storage to remember filters, color themes, and recent recipients
7. Age Considerations
BirthdayGen is designed for users 13 and older. Users under 16 should have parent/guardian permission before using AI or uploading contacts.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive data from minors.
8. Data Rights
You may:
- Access, edit, or delete your profile and any recipient info
- Request data export
- Opt out of emails or promotional recommendations
- Request AI card content be removed or blocked

If you disconnect an Apple-native companion in the future, BirthdayGen should stop receiving new contacts from that device, while existing imported records remain available until you delete them.
9. Future Features
Coming soon: custom gift bundles, voice messages from AI assistants, party polls, RSVP tracking, and holiday tools. These features will follow the same privacy protections and consent-first approach.
